12 CONFIGURATION MANAGER

Configuration Manager is a component of NMS. As both large and small

networks are in a constant state of flux, configuration changes to live

devices can have devastating effects on the reliability of the network and

the services provided by them. Configuration Manager is designed to help

you take control of network changes.

The Configuration Manager option facilitates quick problem solving and

reduction of network risks and costs. Configuration Manager has been built

to save time and to reduce problems on the network due to wrong

configuration.

Configuration Manager is comprised of the following main entities:

◆ Devices

◆ Template s

◆ Firmware

Select Tools > Configuration Manager.

VIEW MENU

The View menu option allows you to access the Configuration File Navigator

option.

CONFIGURATION FILE

NAVIGATOR

You can manage devices, firmware and templates from the Configuration

File Navigator.

To access the Configuration File Navigator, perform the following steps:

1. From the main menu bar, select Tools > Configuration Manager. You

will see the View menu option on the main menu bar.

2. From the View menu, select Configuration File Navigator if you want the

panel to appear on the screen.
