PRELIMINARY
CREATE A CATEGORY To create a category under which you can group firmware, perform the
following steps:
1. From the Configuration File Navigator panel, right-click and select “Add
Firmware Category.” You will see the New Category dialog box.
2. Under the section Select parent folder, select “Firmware.”
3. Enter a name in the Category Name field and click Finish.
The new category added will appear in the left pane under the option
Firmware.
DOWNLOAD FIRMWARE You can download firmware files into the system for a specific device that
you have added for Configuration to ECView Pro Configuration Manager.
You can download firmware from devices added to ECView Pro
Configuration Manager.
To download firmware from a specific device, perform the following steps:
1. From the Configuration File Navigator panel, select the “Firmware”
option under the device you have added.
2. Right-click and select “Download Firmware.” A message is displayed
asking you to confirm if you want to download the firmware from the
specific device. Click OK.
The progress information is displayed. The system will download the
latest firmware.
Once the firmware has been downloaded, the latest revision number for
that firmware file will be displayed against the firmware option for the
particular device in the Configuration File Navigator panel on the left side.
Additionally, the Show History section on the right panel will display that a
firmware revision has been downloaded for the specific device. You can
export the file to your local hard disk or to any destination that you want to
store the file.
EXPORT FILE You can take a backup or store the Configuration or firmware file that has
been downloaded from a specific device.
To take a backup or store a file, perform the following steps:
1. From the Show History section on the right panel, select the version of
the configuration file you want to store or take a backup of the file.
2. Right click and select “Export File.” You will see the Export File dialog
box.
3. Select the location where you would like to store this file.
