The Search Results panel can be sorted by clicking any of the column
headings.
Select from any of the searched results and it will automatically select the
node in the “Overview,” and “Mapping view” tab.
LAYOUT ACTION
Initially, the map view is represented with a default map layout, which is
the “Organic Layout.” Eventually, you will want to change the graph layout
to have a better view of your network topology. Using the Layout Action,
you have the option to choose from the customized layouts that would best
represent your network topology.
Types of Map Layout:
◆ Orthogonal Layout — Allows the topology of the network to be clearly
visualized. In an orthogonal layout, lines belonging to connected
devices do not overlap, reminiscent of a flow chart. This provides a neat
and organized view of the network.
◆ Organic Layout — Displays highly-connected regions of the network
as clusters on the network. This display can give you a good overview
of the functional design of a network.
◆ Hierarchical Layout — Shows the network in a “top-down” fashion,
indicating the path back to the core device.
◆ Circular Layout — Shows relationships between devices on a network.
A circular view works best when the network is relatively small. Large
networks often produce circular maps that are too complex to be
useful.
◆ Edge Router — Arranges the node links similar to flowcharting.
